Dear Readers,
I was just made aware that a school district is offering my full set of quizzes freely from their PTA website.
I retired this year from teaching elementary school for 38 years. This is now my full-time business. I am so disappointed that an educational institution would perpetuate this theft of intellectual property and intentionally damage my small business.
I have to trust that people who purchase my quizzes use them for themselves or their own team members. (I do not expect them to buy five different sets of quizzes). Also, as a teacher and a mother, I know how much I would be willing to spend on these quizzes, which is the reason my prices have not risen for over seven years, in spite of the cost of living increasing. School wide licenses may be purchased that allow making as many copies as desired and distributing them through emails or in Google Classroom (but not publicly on a website or blog).
It is always possible for some unethical person to copy and paste my quizzes and share them freely, just as some people do with printable worksheets and materials, and I would never know the difference. I just have to believe that there are more good people in the world than bad ones.
In the meantime:
LIMITATIONS ON COPYING AND DISTRIBUTION. Quizzes purchased from the Battle of the Books Quiz Center may not be copied, transmitted, or distributed, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law despite this limitation.
Thank you,
Lisa Rodriguez
